Ewa and Jose run the design studio Calma Creative, based in Valencia, specializing in furniture and interior accessories. As animal lovers and caregivers to their own feline family, they naturally combine aesthetic sensitivity with the everyday experience of living with animals in their designs. From their very first conversation with the founders of the Hugs brand, they felt it was a project close to their own approach—one that brings together aesthetics, functionality, and the genuine needs of pets. The Explore, Share, and Rest designs created at Calma Creative balance functionality, calm aesthetics, and the idea of harmonious coexistence between animals and the home environment.

HUGS was born out of a need—we noticed a lack of pet products that truly fit into the aesthetics of modern interiors. Driven by our love for our pets and a passion for beautiful, well-designed objects, we created solutions that are both functional and seamlessly integrated into the home environment.
We build HUGS by combining our experience in e-commerce with over 10 years in the furniture industry. We know how to design products that are not only visually appealing, but also practical and durable—ones that truly stand the test of everyday life. In our private life, we are parents to 7-year-old Marysia and two four-legged companions: 7-month-old Mermaid and 5-year-old Zula. Living with them every day is our greatest source of inspiration.
